KYIV – Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky called for an international investigation into a plane crash in Russia, carrying 65 Ukrainian prisoners.

In a video speech broadcast last night, Zelensky said, “It is clear that the Russians are manipulating the lives of Ukrainian prisoners, the feelings of their relatives and the feelings of our society,” stressing that “all the facts must be proven.”

For its part, Russia announced that there were no survivors after Kiev “shot down” the Il-76 plane carrying 65 Ukrainian prisoners of war, six Russian crew members and three companions.

Moscow said that the two Ukrainians mentioned were to be taken on board for a prisoner exchange.

The two black boxes belonging to the plane that crashed in the Russian Belgorod region have been found, and according to media sources, the two boxes will be decrypted in one of the Ministry of Defense laboratories, and they are expected to be delivered tomorrow.
