As anticipated, the protagonist of the fiction is Jasmine Trinca, an increasingly well-known face in Italian fiction. She was born in 1981, she made her debut after being noticed by Nanni Moretti who was looking for a non-professional actress to play the role of Irene, daughter of Laura Morante, for the film ‘Son’s room‘. She was casting the students of the classical high school that Trinca was attending. She was chosen for the role that led her to win the Golden palm tree at the Festival of Cannes 2001. In 2003 he starred in ‘The best youth’ and obtained the award for best leading actress (together with the female cast of the film) at the Nastri d’argento 2004. In fiction, however, before returning as the protagonist in ‘La storia’ he had participated in the miniseries ‘Kefalonia’ way back in 2005.

Then here is her return to the small screen, at the beginning of 2024, in ‘The Story’ where she plays the role of Ida Ramundo, a Jewish elementary school teacher who is raising her son Nino, who is 16 years old, alone. Years before her, in 1940, while Ida is returning home, she is followed by a drunk German soldier who, under the pretext of helping her carry the shopping bags, enters her house and rapes her. Ida discovers that she has become pregnant and in total secrecy she will give birth to a child who will find herself having to grow up among a thousand difficulties, given the historical period.

The fiction is based on the novel by Elsa Morante, published for the first time in 1974.
