The VPRO sees no reason to cancel the programme 100 days in the forgotten district by Tim den Besten not to be broadcast. The broadcaster said this in a response to the broadcaster ANP.
The VPRO says it is “shocked” by the declarations that were done because of Den Besten’s behavior. The broadcaster does not want to comment further on the matter.
“This takes place within the private sphere of Tim den Besten. The VPRO naturally takes such accusations seriously and would like to have this carefully investigated. Our condolences go out to everyone involved.”
“In the interests of all involved”, VPRO is awaiting the investigation by the police and the judiciary before the broadcaster responds further.
By the way, the presenter is currently not working. He is seriously ill. Den Besten suffers from a rare form of cancer. The recordings of Timmyland were already shut down for that reason.
Three men have filed a report against the 36-year-old presenter because he allegedly misused their photos on Grindr. Den Besten is said to have used names and photos of other men for contact via the dating app.
