Dusan Vlahovic took the leading role in Juventus’ league victory over Sassuolo (3-0) on Tuesday. The Serbian scored the first two goals on behalf of the home team. One goal was even better than the other.
Vlahovic got the Juventus fans on the benches for the first time after fifteen minutes with a beautiful goal. The striker swept the ball from the edge of the penalty area into the top left corner. The 36-year-old goalkeeper Andrea Consigli had no chance.
The 1-0 seemed unsurpassable in terms of beauty, but before half time Vlahovic proved the opposite. From almost the same position he fired a free kick into the top right corner. Consigli could only applaud that attempt as well.
Vlahovic was given a substitution about ten minutes before the final whistle. Then Federico Chiesa provided the final chord. After good work by former Ajax player Arkadiusz Milik, the ball came to the goalscorer via Manuel Locatelli.
Thanks to the simple victory over Sassuolo, Juventus keeps in touch with leader Internazionale. The team from Milan has two points more than ‘De Oude Dame’ after twenty games. Sassuolo is in fourteenth place.
