UEFA Champions League 2024/25: calendar, final and dates to mark | UEFA Champions League

This will be the 70th edition of the top European club competition, the 33rd since it was renamed the UEFA Champions League, as well as the first with new format. The tournament starts on 9 July 2024 and concludes on 31 May 2025 with the final in Munich.

What does the new Champions League format involve?

The biggest change is to the group stage, which will become a 36-team league stage. Each club faces eight different teams (four at home, four away). The top eight classified directly access the round of 16; the teams ranked from ninth to 24th place play-offs for the direct elimination phase, where the winners advance to the round of 16. The 2024/25 UEFA Champions League will conclude at the Fußball Arena München in Munich: the highlight of the European club calendar will return to the German city for the first time since 2012.

Completed on 30 April 2005, the stadium is located on Werner-Heisenberg-Allee and is owned by Bayern Munich. It hosted four UEFA EURO 2020 matches and, as it will also host UEFA EURO 2024, it will be the first stadium in history to host consecutive UEFA European Championship matches. What do Champions League winners receive?

The current UEFA Champions League trophy He is 73.5cm tall and weighs 7.5kg.

The 2024/25 winners also earn a place in the group stage of the 2025/26 UEFA Champions League, if they did not qualify via their respective domestic league. They will also earn the right to play against the winners of the 2024/25 UEFA Europa League in the 2025 UEFA Super Cup.
