The FIFA Disciplinary Commission “has disqualified Luis Rubiales, former president of the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF), from any football-related activity for three years, both nationally and internationally, on the basis that his conduct violated the article 13 of the FIFA Disciplinary Code”. This was announced by FIFA. The case concerns the events that occurred during the FIFA Women’s World Cup final on 20 August 2023 with the kiss to player Jenny Hermoso, for which Rubiales was provisionally suspended for an initial period of 90 days.
