The Social Plan of Rome Capital, a common challenge” – Meeting to present the programmatic lines and participatory processes will be held on Monday 6 November, from 9am to 1pm, in the Protomoteca Hall.

Rome is a city of approximately three million inhabitants, divided into 15 municipalities, each of which has its own social plan. In such a large and complex city, what sense does a city social plan have? And how can the city social plan interact with the 15 municipal area plans? The meeting, organized by the Department of Social Policies and Health, aims to answer these questions.

We believe that a city social plan makes sense because, now more than ever, we need to think about the city together; – underlined Councilor Funari – Otherwise the risk is fragmentation: a set of territories that do not communicate. In fact, the city cannot be a patchwork of disconnected islands nor an archipelago, i.e. a grouping of neighboring islands. The city is an organism to be recomposed through plural and converging perspectives, and if the meaning of the city’s social plan lies in thinking about the city together, the method to do so can only be that of participation”.

November 6th is therefore the first event of the participation process: others will follow with the aim of discussing how to improve the quality of life of people, especially the most vulnerable, and promote social cohesion in the city of Rome.

To partecipate at the meeting on November 6th you must register by sending an email by Thursday 2 November at the address assessorato.politichesociali@comune.roma.it.
