Repairing the damaged Balticconnector gas pipeline will cost up to 10 million euros, and restoration work could be hampered by the arrival of winter, according to the newspaper Helsingin Sanomat, Report informs referring to TASS.
“When repairs need to be done quickly, the price becomes high. Perhaps, after all, we are not talking about tens of millions of euros, but from one to ten million euros,” said Esa Vakkilainen, professor at the Department of Energy at Lappeenranta-Lahti University of Technology LUT.
He spoke about the difficulties in carrying out repair work, since winter is approaching and the sea may become covered with ice, and storms also pose a danger.
