PSV.nl – UEFA Youth League




PSV U19 won the second home match of the UEFA Youth League tournament against RC Lens. Coach Vincent Heilmann’s team was 2-0 too strong against their French peers. Emir Bars and Jesper Uneken crowned themselves scorers.


Early in the first half, PSV had a few chances to open the score and in minute 15 it was Emir Bars who broke the spell. After a quick combination in the penalty area of ​​the northern French opponent, the young winger found the net from close range.

PSV had the upper hand after the opening goal. The formation of coach Vincent Heilmann created many chances and doubled the score: Jesper Uneken first headed the ball onto the post from a corner kick, but minutes later he was accurate from a cross from Julian Kwaaitaal. The striker added extra color to his debut in the prestigious youth tournament. Emir Bars and Renzo Tytens had chances to score the third goal before the half-time signal, but they failed to pass RC Lens goalkeeper Amine Boukemouche.

Second half
After the break the chances were again for PSV. Things weren’t going well for the youth team, so Julian hit the crossbar and post and a goal was disallowed. Furthermore, PSV O19 was hardly in danger. It determined the final score at 2-0. The victory puts PSV in second place in group B with seven points. RC Lens took first place despite the defeat.
