According to the SP Public Security Secretariat, Thiago was arrested in the act when he was admitted to the hospital. He told the police that he was arguing with the woman inside the car when, during the argument, he ended up shooting her and then trying to help her. A .40 caliber pistol was seized for forensic examination. The case was registered as feminicide by the 4th Women’s Defense Police Station (DDM). The police officer was taken to the Romão Gomes Military Prison (PMRG), where he is being held. The institution’s Internal Affairs Department was also contacted.

The police officer and Erika had only been married for 6 months. Their social networks still display photos of the ceremony, held in May, declarations of love and records of the honeymoon. “You are my daily joy”, commented the woman in one of the posts.

“It is with deep sadness that I come to announce the death of a person very dear to us all. We did not expect to have to share this news, perhaps no one is ready to say goodbye, but our dear and beloved Erika, after being a victim of femicide in the early hours of On December 3rd, he left us. The author (her husband) was arrested in the act and taken to the Romão Gomes Prison”, published one of the sisters, Cleide Bezerra da Silva. “At this very delicate moment, we family members, in a moment of mourning, ask for all the support and kindness in dealing with what happened.”

The report was unable to contact Thiago César’s defense. He told the police that he had shot because his wife had tried to take the gun away from him, which you cannot see in the images.
