It will start from June 2024 e it will be active for the entire summer season the first direct flight of Neos which will join the airport Falcone and Borsellino of Palermo-Punta Raisi with New York JFK. The new route will operate with two frequencies per weekdeparting from Italy every Tuesday and Sunday, thanks to a Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner with 355 seats, offering the market an air capacity of 710 seats per week.
Every Monday the plane will take off at 5pm from New York and arrive in Palermo on Tuesday at 7.20am, departing from Palermo at 11.25am and arriving in New York at 2.50pm. Every Saturday the plane will take off at 5pm from New York and arrive in Palermo on Sunday at 7.20am, leaving again at 11.25am for New York where it will land at 2.50pm.
Neos thus expanding its network towards North America, where since 2021 it has been present with 3 weekly flights on the New York – Milan Malpensa route and since last April with a Toronto – Milan Malpensa flight, recording good performances and playing an important role in the reference panorama. “The new intercontinental flight, the only one direct from Sicily to the United States and operated by an Italian carrierrepresents an important opportunity for the largest island in the Mediterranean in terms of both outgoing and incoming traffic – explains a note from the company – without forgetting the high number of compatriots residing in the Big Apple”.
“This new connection represents a further opportunity for the development of leisure and business flows between Italy and the United States with the initial goal of carrying around 20,000 passengers in summer 2024 – he says Carlo Stradiotti, CEO of Neos –. It is the result of a vision that has kept investments constant over time in the growth of the fleet and routes, continuously increasing scheduled activity, while maintaining high standards of hospitality and welcome on board and guaranteeing punctuality and stability of the operators” .
The new flight will be used not only for passengers, but also for freight transport, offering an availability of 10 tons for each flight. An important activity for the company, started during the years of the pandemic and which led to its growth, not only in terms of volume and turnover, but above all in terms of the products and services offered.
By 2024 it is expected the entry into the fleet of four new B737-8 MAX which will further reduce the age of the fleet, already one of the youngest in Europe, bringing it to a total of 19 aircraft, as well as allowing a further increase in routes and the management with greater connections and rotations of the most strategic routes for the market, collaborating both with in-house brands and with the main Italian and international tourist operators.
Tickets can already be purchased on the site www.neosair.it for the Italian market e www.neosair.com for the American market, through Neos sales offices in New York. The flights are also distributed through the GSA APG, the main OTAs, the Welcome Geo network and finally through the Amadeus and Saber GDSs for all markets.
