Ligurians win the battle for salvation

Tonight Genoa-Salernitana faced each other with a related challenge on the bench between the two coaches, former Milan players, Gilardino and Inzaghi. Both on the hunt for full loot to move up the rankings. An obvious battle for salvation won by the home team. Three golden points for the rossoblù who return to victory after a month. Pippo Inzaghi’s men are still penultimate in the standings.

In the first fraction Genoa starts off aggressive, while their opponents study where and how they can attack. Just over a quarter of an hour passed and the rossoblù chipped the posts twice without managing to hit the target with Badelj and Retegui. After the far post the player remains on the ground complaining of knee pain. Salernitana tries to appear forward waiting to start the counterattack, but twice Candreva and Dia find themselves in off-side positions. And it was the home team who broke the deadlock and took the lead in the 35th minute with Gudmundsson, who first missed two opponents and then struck the opposing goalkeeper with a right-footed diagonal shot: uncatchable for Ochoa.
