Roda JC made no mistake on Friday in the Kitchen Champion Division. The leader was too strong for Jong Ajax in Kerkrade with 2-1. ADO Den Haag failed to beat VVV-Venlo (2-2) and Willem II defeated Jong PSV 3-0.
Roda, which is in its sixth consecutive season in the Kitchen Champion Division, took the lead after fifteen minutes through a goal by Enrique Peña Zauner. The midfielder neatly scored on a pass from Metehan Güçlü. Nassef Chourak made it 1-1 at halftime.
Walid Ould-Chikh scored the winning goal halfway through the second half via the inside of the post, meaning Roda remains the leader in the Kitchen Champion Division after twelve rounds.
Thijs Oosting was accurate twice for Willem II, which already recorded its sixth victory in a row. Jeredy Hilterman had made it 2-0 shortly after halftime. The victory gave the Tilburg team 26 points, as many as Roda JC. The Limburgers do have a slightly better goal difference.
Number three ADO Den Haag did suffer damage. VVV equalized just before the end through Levi Smans. Number four FC Emmen recorded a hard-fought victory over Jong AZ. Jari Vlak crowned himself the match winner in the 96th minute by making it 2-1.
FC Dordrecht was much too strong for FC Den Bosch (5-1) and continued a strong season. De Graafschap defeated FC Eindhoven 2-1. NAC-Helmond Sport (1-1) ended undecided. Telstar played 85 minutes with ten men due to a red card from Danny Bakker, but won 1-0 against TOP Oss in injury time thanks to Mitch Apau. A number of players were missing from Telstar because they did not want to play in special rainbow shirts.
