Newly single Britney Spears was spotted in a skimpy figure at a restaurant in Mexico – but the star has told her fans she feels “ashamed as hell” of being spotted.
Spears, 41, who recently split from her husband of a year Sam Asghari, was seen looking relaxed at a bar in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico in footage that surfaced on social media.
TMZ reports that Spears was at the Baja Diablo bar with a bodyguard and a female friend.
Spears took to her Instagram profile to share one of the tabloid shots of herself at the bar, admitting she was “embarrassed as hell” to be spotted.
“I walked in like a deer in the headlights and had no idea that I was being filmed from all sides,” she wrote.
I’m only human and I have no idea what the hell is going on with my hair, but I stopped in Mexico!!! I’m going to Italy now to get my favorite spaghetti and meatballs!!! I know the owner there, so I hope he can get me in the back door️!!!”
Spears’ low-key international vacation comes as she appears to be living her best life following her sudden split from Asghari, whom she dated for six years before marrying in a star-studded ceremony last year.
Earlier this week she got a brand new tattoo, showing fans the snake design that now adorns her lower back. And the normally reclusive star also recently hit the town with some of her pals, sharing photos from a wild night out she enjoyed with a few male pals.
Perhaps understandably given all that social media activity, fitness influencer Asghari recently unfollowed his ex on social media.
Britney is also preparing the release of her long-awaited book for everyone, The woman in meOctober 24.
Little is known about the book’s contents, but she dropped another hint on Twitter today when she posted a clip of her iconic performance at the 2001 MTV VMAs, in which she performed with a giant albino python wrapped around her shoulders.
“One of my favorite performances was with an albino python… I still remember how scared I was when I got this snake and went on stage!!! I talked more about this performance and other favorites in my book #TheWomanInMe … can’t wait for you to read it,” she wrote.
