Inter beat Salzburg 2-1 thanks to goals from Alexis Sánchez in the 19th and Calhanoglu from a penalty in the 64th. The Austrians scored in the 57th minute with Gloukh, but the tie lasted only seven minutes. In the 80th minute, a goal by Lautaro was disallowed for offside. Inter and Real Sociedad are thus tied at the top with 7 points in Group D, Salzburg is on 3 and Benfica is on 0.

In the 14th free kick for Inter from the right side of the penalty area, Calhanoglu takes it, passing the ball to Carlos Augusto who attempts a header which is thwarted by Gourna-Douath, the ball goes out. In the 19th minute Mkhitaryan escapes on the right, calibrates a low pass to the left side of the goal, Alexis Sánchez arrives and puts it in: Inter are ahead.
