Former Flamengo player spent 2 years in the army and escaped the war

Like the other nine million inhabitants of Israel, Daniel Tenenbaum, from Rio de Janeiro, had his life impacted by the new wave of conflicts between the country and pro-Palestinian terrorist groups, especially Hamas.

But if war had broken out three years earlier, the goalkeeper’s involvement revealed in the club’s youth categories. Flamengo would have been much bigger. And perhaps he was even taking up arms and participating in attacks against the Gaza Strip.

After all, between 2018 and 2020, Tenenbaum had to balance training and games for Maccabi Tel Aviv, a team he has defended for eight seasons and for which he has already won two national first division titles, with the military routine of the Israeli army.
