Next Saturday we can finally go to De Grolsch Veste again. There’s no sick pot waiting. AZ, currently the biggest competitor for third place, is coming to visit. It is the start of a tough month of January, in which FC Twente can immediately deal blows to the competition. In addition, good business can be done in the TOTO KNVB Cup.
Next Saturday, AZ can be put on four points after exactly one half of the competition. The first match of the second half will be played in the Goffert Stadium against NEC Nijmegen, which has already taken points from FC Twente and AZ this season. In the meantime, FC Twente can still go to Eindhoven, where the cup match against PSV will be rescheduled.
If coach Joseph Oosting’s team wins that match, it will visit Feyenoord a week later in the eighth final of the KNVB Cup. FC Twente has to go to De Kuip on Sunday, January 28, when Feyenoord is the opponent in the competition. It will be a tough month, but it can also be a very beautiful month.
