Djokovic wins in doubles debut in Paris and meets rival in singles

World number 1 in singles, Novak Djokovic debuted with victory in doubles this Tuesday at the Masters 1000 in Paris, France, a hard court tournament with a prize pool of 5.7 million euros.

The Serb and his compatriot Miomir Kecmanovic defeated the pair of Ecuadorian Gonzalo Escobar and Kazakh Aleksandr Nedovyesov 6/4 6/2 after 1h08min and will face in the second round the 3rd seeds, Rohan Bopanna, from India, and Australian Matthew Ebden.

Djokovic debuts in singles this Wednesday against Argentine Tomas Etcheverry who defeated Kecmanovic 4/6 7/6 (8/6) 6/4. Nole defeated him in the only meeting held this year in Rome, Italy.
