Davis Cup, Arnaldi wins with Leo Borg: Italy goes to the Finals in Malaga

Matteo Arnaldi brings Italy the point necessary to go to the final stages of Malaga, at the end of November: at the Unipol Arena in Bologna in the match against Sweden he defeats Leo Borg (the son of Bjorn, number 334 in the world), by 6- 4, 6-3. An opaque match with many errors, as delicate matches often are due to the stakes and in which one is the favourite. But what matters is the result, Arnaldi closes on the third match point and Italy qualifies with Canada, the first of Group A, in which Sweden and Chile were eliminated.

In the second singles, with the result secured, Lorenzo Sonego defeats Elias Ymer 6-4, 6-4. In the doubles final Bolelli and Musetti lost to Bergevi and Goransson only in the third by 4-6, 7-6, 10-8. Meanwhile, on Tuesday at 12pm there will be the draw for the teams that will meet in Malaga. Italy could end up with Holland or Great Britain. The other teams qualified for the Finals are Canada, Australia, Czech Republic, Serbia, Finland.
