The famous “Christmas in the Dolomites” in San Candido has chosen “Feel good” as its motto this year. This small town in the 3 Cime / 3 Zinnen Dolomite region is steeped in culture and offers a special atmosphere that cannot be found elsewhere. The Christmas market here is fascinating and engaging, starting on November 24, 2023 and lasting until January 6, 2024.

“Christmas in the Dolomites” is an authentic attraction for visitors. The historic center of San Candido, with its evocative setting, offers a walk from the Collegiate Church, an imposing Romanesque style cathedral, to the church of San Michele, passing through the pedestrian area. San Candido is also a very special place for the “Dolomythos Underground Christmas Market”, which is located in the largest museum in the Dolomites. During Christmas, everything transforms and entry is free. In this underground market you won’t suffer from the cold and a treasure hunt is organized for the children, with the possibility of even finding real gold.

During “Christmas in the Dolomites” in San Candido, you can come across the “Krampus” and San Nicolò, listen to Alphorn players or musicians singing the most beautiful Christmas carols. It is advisable to reach San Candido by train, with a ride every half hour, to enjoy the beauty of the Pusteria Valley. You can go on excursions from the town center to the ancient Bagni di San Candido or choose one of the numerous refuges in the area, which offer the tastiest gastronomic specialties during the Christmas period. It is also possible to discover the unique beauty of the Dolomites, a UNESCO Natural World Heritage Site, by sledging or skiing. A fairytale landscape which, in winter, is covered with a soft blanket of snow and is just waiting to be explored.
