Brighton and Wolverhampton played out a goalless draw this Monday (22), in the 21st round of the Premier League. At Falmer Stadium, the home team had control of the ball in the first half, but saw the visiting team grow in the second half and threaten Steele’s goal.

Thus, with the draw, Brazilian João Pedro’s Brighton jumped to seventh place, with 32 points, overtaking Manchester United. Matheus Cunha’s Wolverhampton continued in 11th place.

How was the game

The first half was one of few emotions at Falmer Stadium. The home team controlled much of the initial stage, with 68% possession of the ball. However, it was difficult to threaten the opponent, who closed well in the defensive sector. Wolverhampton, which opted for counterattacks, was also inefficient.

The visiting team returned from the dressing room with a different attitude, attacking Brighton. In fact, in the first minute, Wolverhampton came close to opening the scoring with Matheus Cunha. If, on the one hand, the Wolves, with confidence, grew on the field, the hosts suffered a drop in performance.

The pressure from the away team increased even more in the last 10 minutes. Cunha, in a great counterattack, dribbled past the opposing goalkeeper, but shot wide. Until the final whistle, both teams tried to create dangerous chances, but without success.
