Borussia wins, and Newcastle is in the group of death

Borussia Dortmund hosted Newcastle at Signal Iduna Park, this Tuesday (7), in Group F, the group of death, of Champions League. The home team beat the English 2-0, with goals from Füllkrug and Brandt, and remained in a comfortable position in the competition table.

In the Champions League, Newcastle, however, paid the price after Borussia’s 4-0 defeat to Bayern Munich in the Bundesliga. With the victory, after all, the Germans have seven points in the competition. The English, who remain with four points, arrived confident after two victories in the Premier League (3-0 at Manchester and 1-0 at Arsenal), they did not surpass the Germans.

First time

Borussia, playing at home with the support of the fans, started the match by putting pressure on Newcastle. Right at the beginning of the match, midfielder Brandt showed his business card, but finished wide.

Borussia used all their firepower to push Newcastle back. At least in the initial stage it was attack against defense, with the Germans on top. At 25, in a beautiful move, center forward Füllkrug, inside the area, opened the scoring.

Brandt extends to Borussia

At a disadvantage on the scoreboard, Newcastle came back more aggressive. The English went on the attack. Borussia fans, however, also sent their team forward wanting more goals. Newcastle striker Joelinton wasted an excellent opportunity.

With pressure from the fans to increase the score, Borussia started to miss some passes when passing the ball. Newcastle started to enjoy the game and went all out. Borussia, however, once again dominated the actions. And, at 33, he expanded on a counterattack with Adeyemi, who played for Brandt to make it 2-0.
