Five wins from five games for FC Barcelona in the Women’s Champions League. Eintracht Frankfurt was defeated 2-0 at home.
After nineteen minutes, Patricia Guijarro gave the Catalans the lead. Frankfurt suffered an unfortunate loss of ball in their own half and Guijarro took advantage with a blast into the far corner. In the 73rd minute, Caroline Hansen doubled the lead, just after Esmee Brugts had entered the team.
Barcelona is assured of a group win in group A, after Benfica drew against FC Rosengard: 2-2.
Surprising point Rosengard
Rosengard, which is already eliminated after losing all its first four games, took the lead after thirteen minutes. Olivia Schough hit the target from outside the box with a nice curl, but Benfica goalkeeper Lena Pauels was also not feeling well.
After halftime, Jéssica Silva equalized after Andreia Faria’s long shot hit the crossbar and Silva only had to tap the ball over the line. Moments later, a dramatic back pass from Emma Jansson just in front of the goal ended up at the feet of Marie-Yasmine Alidou, who made it 2-1 for Benfica.
Ten minutes before the end, Mai Kadowaki scored the equalizer.
Lyon wins convincingly
In group B, Olympique Lyon won 7-0 against St. Pölten. Daniëlle van de Donk came on for the French team after 63 minutes.
Thanks to Brann’s 1-0 win against Slavia Prague, Lyon and Brann are already certain of the quarter-finals.
