FC Barcelona won in La Liga on Sunday thanks to a special goal. Seventeen-year-old debutant Marc Guiu scored the winning goal against Athletic Club shortly after coming on as a substitute: 1-0. Earlier in the day, Daley Blind was important for Girona.
Barcelona took office without the injured Frenkie de Jong and Robert Lewandowski, among others, and had a difficult time with the tough Athletic Club. The match in Estadio Olímpico seemed to end in a 0-0 draw.
Until ten minutes before the end, when Guiu, who had just come on, made himself heard. The seventeen-year-old Spanish attacker came in from the left, scored and had a dream debut. He celebrated his goal enthusiastically.
Coach Xavi’s Barcelona is still undefeated in Spain after ten games. The top club has 24 points and is therefore one point behind Real Madrid and Blind’s surprisingly well-performing Girona.

Blind contributes to remontada Girona
Girona won 5-2 against Alméria earlier in the day. The 33-year-old Blind provided the assist for Girona’s 2-2 six minutes before half-time. Artem Dovbyk found the target after a double one-two with the Dutchman, who signed for the Spanish club last summer.
Just before half time, Girona pulled off an impressive remontada. The Catalans overturned an early 0-2 deficit in just six minutes. Iván Martín scored the 1-2 for Girona in the 37th minute. Shortly afterwards, Dovbyk scored the equalizer and two minutes before half-time, the Ukrainian completed the comeback with a shot in the left corner.
Former PSV player Sávio secured the three points just under twenty minutes before the end. In the final phase, Cristhian Stuani set the final score at 5-2. Blind played the entire match for the home team.
Thanks to the victory, Girona climbed to second place in La Liga. Blind’s team now has the same number of points as leader Real Madrid, which lost points at Sevilla (1-1) on Saturday. Thanks to a better goal difference, Real remains in the lead.
