Atlético-MG x Fluminense: where to watch, time and team lineup

Direct competitors in the fight for a place in the next edition of Libertadores Cup, Atlético-MG e Fluminense face each other this Saturday, at 9pm, on Arena MRVin Belo Horizonte, for the 30th round of the Brasileirão. Despite the importance of the match, the Rio tricolor can preserve a good part of its players, thinking about the decision against the Boca Juniorsfor the continental tournament.

Atlético-MG comes from a 2-1 victory over vice-leader Red Bull Bragantino and appears in seventh place, with 46 points. But they want to redeem themselves in front of their fans, after losing to rival Cruzeiro, 1-0, last Sunday. The search is for a place within the G-6, which would guarantee him in the Libertadores.

Atlético has reinforcements. Coach Felipão will have defender Maurício Ramos and midfielder Zaracho. Both were suspended against Red Bull Bragantino and should return to their positions among the starters.

On the other hand, Felipão will not be able to count on midfielder Battaglia, who underwent knee surgery and will no longer play in 2023. Striker Vargas is also banned. Full-back Mariano trained with the ball and could be an option, but the tendency is for him to be preserved.

Fluminense also won in the last round, scoring 5-3 against Goiás, at Maracanã. They are in eighth place, with 45 points, but their biggest priority, however, is the Libertadores final on November 4th against Boca Juniors, at Maracanã.

Keeping the old speech of thinking ‘game by game’, coach Fernando Diniz must preserve some players aiming for the big decision of the year, but the certainty is that he will not have midfielder Paulo Henrique Ganso nor striker Germán Cano, both suspended by the accumulation of yellow cards.

The coach should take the opportunity to preserve other players, such as full-back Marcelo and midfielder Arias. Defender Nino is also missing due to being injured.
