Marko Arnautovic he has a mad desire to take over Inter. Or at least to demonstrate to everyone that he can finally be useful to the Nerazzurri cause: “I’m fine. It’s been a hard six weeks physically and mentally, I wasn’t used to it – the attacker’s words in the press conference referring toinjury suffered in Empoli (24 September: muscle strain on the flexors of the left thigh) -. I wasn’t with the team, but now I’m back and I have a great desire to help them.”. If it were up to the player, he would certainly take sides from the first minute, but everything leads us to believe that Inzaghi will decide to seat the former Bologna player on the bench at the start of the match against Salzburg: “What if we have four starters up front? That’s a question for the coach. If he puts me on the pitch, I’ll try to give my best. Up front we have a strong attack with Marcus, Lauti and Sanchez. Whoever deserves to play will play”.
Arnautovic, his words at the conference
Arnautovicwhich he has put together so far this season 7 appearances and one assist (precisely for Toro, against Monza, in the championship opener), for a total of 233 minutes, he continues by speaking specifically about this evening’s match against his compatriots: “For me it’s a match with a lot of emotion, we’re in Austria. But I’m here to win. Before and after the match we’ll be friends, but when you play, you do everything to beat your opponent. And that’s what we’re here for. We want to qualify for the round of 16.”. The expert striker, which by the way he still is in search of his first ever goal in an Inter shirt – in 2010, in fact, he never set foot on the pitch in the Champions League and in the Italian Cup, making only three appearances, for a total of 55 minutes, in Serie A, with the Nerazzurri -, he then goes on to praise his rivals, fearsome rivals despite their absences : “It’s an excellent team, young, with a good coach”. Finally, teased by the Nerazzurri’s strength in Italy and Europe (with a victory at the Red Bull Arena Inter would mathematically qualify for the round of 16 of the competition), Arnautovic prefers to maintain, at least for the moment, a rather low profile: “I can’t say that we are the strongest in Serie A, we work week after week. The coach explains everything to us and we replicate it on the pitch. So far we have done an excellent job, but we are only at the beginning, the road is long. We are certainly prepared for everything”.
