A Rockstar may announce Grand Theft Auto VI – the GTA 6 – this week. At least, that’s what the information provided by the Bloomberg. Additionally, a trailer for the long-awaited sequel to GTA 5 will be released at the beginning of December, as a way of celebrating the producer’s 25th anniversary.
For those in a hurry:
- Rockstar may announce the long-awaited Grand Theft Auto VI (GTA 6) this week, according to information published by Bloomberg;
- There are expectations that the producer will also release a schedule for the launch of the successor game to Grand Theft Auto V, which recently turned ten years old. The new game is expected to be released in 2024;
- GTA 6 could feature the first female protagonist in the series, inspired by Bonnie and Clyde, and be set in a fictional version of Miami, similar to the one used in “GTA: Vice City”, from 2002.
- In 2022, 90 videos were leaked with gameplay footage from GTA 6, showing the female character escaping after a robbery in a restaurant. Another leaked clip showed a character on the Vice City subway.

GTA VI: what is known about the game
Rockstar first confirmed it was working on the next Grand Theft Auto in February 2022, development of which was “in full swing“, in the company’s words.

Still in 2022, 90 videos with images from Grand Theft Auto VI leaked on the internet. In them, the female playable character could be seen fleeing after robbing a restaurant. The gameplay was in the early stages of development, with the game engine in debug mode and detecting objects. Another leaked clip showed a character on the Vice City subway.
A jury in London eventually concluded that a teenage member of the Lapsus$ hacker group carried out cyberattacks against Rockstar Games, Uber and Nvidia. Arion Kurtaj, 18, leaked GTA 6 gameplay videos after threatening Rockstar Games.
