Amarcord “The Days of Roses” – “Event that highlights Villa Fidelia”
An afternoon dedicated to the rose, the queen of flowers and the event entirely dedicated to her: “The Days of Roses”which is held in spring in the evocative setting of Villa Fidelia and which every year records a crescendo, not only of enthusiasts, but also of visitors who choose to immerse themselves in the beauty of these flowers while walking along the avenues of the Villa’s park.
In the Province of Perugia, in a packed Falcone Borsellino Hall, the Garden Club Perugia with the creator of the event Giuseppina Massi Benedetti they retraced the last edition which registered 35 thousand visitors. The presence of garden club members and organizers of ‘The Days of Roses’ was very numerous.
At his side Moreno Landrini, in the dual role of vice president of the Province of Perugia and mayor of Spello, the city hosting the event and who has always been very attached to this event which best expresses the spirit of the location. “It is an initiative – were his words – which has risen to become one of the most important events in Italy and organized by enthusiasts who put their heart and soul into it. Therefore, in addition to greetings from the Province of Perugia, I cannot help but do the same as mayor of Spello since it benefits greatly from it, as a city of art and flowers, and is at the same time in perfect harmony with the villa and today it is the event that most enhances it. I would like to express my heartfelt thanks to Massi Benedetti and to those who collaborated for the success of the event at Villa Fidelia which is one of the assets owned by the Province on which the organization is aiming for its valorisation”.
The theme of the last edition was “The Rose and the Rising Sun”, for this purpose the kitsuke, the dressing of the kimono and a performance of iaido, the art of drawing the sword, were proposed again.
Also present was Ambra Cenci who hosted all the conferences and Umbria Center with an artistic display of images.
